Partly Sunny

I'm not dressing up this year for Halloween because I couldn't think of anything silly to be...well, I wanted to be a question mark or an octopus, but didn't end up putting together the costumes.
Anyway, I spent my Sunday afternoon having lunch at one of my favorite cafes with my family and boyfriend. If you guys are ever in LA, make sure you have breakfast/lunch at Toast- it's so tasty!
The weather was really nice today. I wore an old Ralph Lauren cashmere sweater, mustard silk skirt from a thrift store, my dad's Gap leather belt, vintage earrings, Nina Ricci ankle-strap pumps, Versace sunglasses, and a pony hair tote by Coach. I have been carrying this bag with me everywhere!
Me and Gabriel...probably laughing at something stupid... I love him!
Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! xoxoxo

// ARCHE POP UP SHOP - 11/1-14 - BROOKLYN, NY //

This Fall, Rouge 58 will present The Arche, a pop up boutique running for two weeks only, combining emerging talent and established designers in both fashion and jewelry. This inaugural installment will reflect the dark minimalism that has become an essential element of New York style. Playing on the industrial space of the gallery, clothes will be displayed suspended at different lengths from chains, whilst jewelry will be displayed hanging from a pillar in the middle of the store using satin ties and encased in a jewelry box.

The Arche is a collaboration between Nadja Nebas, owner of Rouge 58, and New York fashion photographer Chris Reed - the duo recognized that what was lacking was an innovative platform to showcase brands respected by their community and deemed as influential in the underground scene. Adopting the word ‘arche’, referencing Greek philosophy that derives from the archaic period, it’s meaning lies in the root, the origin, the source. As a new pop up entity aimed to kick start burgeoning young designers, the name was apt and held resonance.

ABOUT ROUGE 58 – www.rouge58.com
Another New York dream was successfully launched! Rouge 58 is a hair salon and art gallery combined launched this August 2010. Based in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn the concept was devised by German - born Nadja Nebas combining her passion for art and her professional skills of haircutting and styling. Rouge 58 seeks to uncover progressive talent by exhibiting the work of artists from every medium, simultaneously curating a series of music events with prominent DJs from around the world to illustrate the spirit of the artists’ work. The Rouge 58 space has been designed to function as a modular space; at select times each month the art will remain on the walls but the space will be disassembled to provide a raw space for pop up boutique sales, dance classes, fashion shoots and short film screenings.

The Camel Train

Apologies for being a crappy blogger...I've been busy altering vintage dresses and jackets, painting pictures for my best friends, and watching horror movies with my boyfriend. Anyway, here are a few photos I've taken recently...dressed in a combination of camel and ivory tones...
Please excuse me for always laughing in my pictures and covering my mouth awkwardly... I'm just a really happy person, ok?
Wearing an H&M polka dot cropped sweater, a cobalt blue velvet belt given to me as a gift, vintage Harrod's  skirt and Dries Van Noten sandals.
Wearing a silk jumpsuit, old DKNY knit sweater, kid's vintage Levi's jacket, Karen Walker sunglasses, and the Dries Van Notens again.
Wearing a blazer from the Goodwill, vintage Levi jeans, Gap tee, and Balenciaga platform sandals.
Nothing like a pair of worn-out vintage Levis!

we can't come to terms on what is supposed to be better between the two.
should it be the fact that piyatat hemmatat's genius perspective came to persuade an elegant view of bangkok old street site
in a very modern landscape through geometric shapes of under-the-bridge panorama,
or the cool posture of this suave blonde model that aligns asymmetrically to every hexagon of these outfits and the lighting?
please help us decide.
